Certificate II Security Operations:

Includes:

Ø  Work Readiness – Intensive Job Search

Ø  1 year license fee inclusive of Mandatory Police Check

Ø  Pants and Shoes as part Uniform

Criteria:

Ø  Clients must be Australian Citizen and a Queensland Resident in the area of training.

Ø  Clients must have proof i.e. Australian Passport, Citizenship Certificate, Birth Certificate etc.

Ø  Must be unemployed and wanting to work in the Security Industry

We do conduct interviews to assess client’s suitability and to make sure they fully understand the work requirements.

Course Duration:

This is a 3 week course; comprising of 2 weeks Security Cert II and 1 week intensive job readiness and job search, this will include:

Ø  Interview Techniques

Ø  Job Search

Ø  Job Readiness

Ø  Forms

Ø  Tax

Ø  Super

Ø  Rights and Obligations

Ø  Work ethics

Application for license:

CLIENT MUST BE ABLE TO PASS A POLICE CHECK and FINGER PRINTING ANY DOUBT PLEASE CALL US AND WE WILL ASSIST WITH QUERY.

The primary goal of this course is Employment within the Security Industry.

Course location & Date (TO BE ADVISED)

We work with the client; to assist them post course for a period of 8 weeks, on a reasonable access to our resources such as advice etc. We also will network with the client and Job Network to give assistance for employment opportunities.

This Australian Government funded Productivity Places Program is coordinated under the Queensland Government's "Skilling Queenslanders for Work" initiative.

INFORMATION SHEET

Enrollment:

1.  Clients must be over 18 years

2.  Meet the Criteria as set out in the flyer

a.  Australian Permanent Resident

b.  Australian Citizen

c.  NZ and Other Clients from Overseas must meet the criteria to prove that they qualify i.e. Centrelink Clients/Appropriate Visa etc.

3.  Be able to pass a Police Check and Finger Printing which is mandatory for licensing. If in doubt please organise a Clients police check privately to see if clear. The client will have to sign a Stat Dec that there is no reason to stop them obtaining a license before they are enrolled.

4.  A form signed by JSA and/or Centrelink is necessary.

5.  Clients will be given an induction one week before the course starts.

6.  This includes LLN

Attendance:

1.  Clients are expected to attend every day, unless they have a Doctors certificate.

2.  Please make appointments for them after 3.00pm.

3.  We keep a diary in the clients file for attendance and other issues.

4.  On occasions clients have used JSA’s and Centrelink as an excuse not to attend, this can put them behind the others, so where possible please keep appointment for after 3.00pm or after the course is finished.

Dress Code:

Clients who attend our courses must have the following Dress Code:

·  Clean Clothes

·  T Shirt and Shorts are OK ( no slogans on T Shirt that may be offensive – workplace appropriate)

·  Closed In Shoes (No Thongs)

Job Search:

Once a client starts the course it is fairly intense for the 3 weeks. Clients can take up work during this time but should communicate this to us so that we can accommodate them. Structuring of other learning assistance is available where necessary, in order for the client to complete their training.

Work cannot start in the Security Industry without a license.

Post Course:

We assist clients with all form filling for application for their license. They must have a Birth Certificate/Current Passport and other forms of ID i.e. Drivers License/18 plus Card etc.

Two Passport Photos will be required; we do not pay for these.

Delays in handing in Workbooks and forms will hold up the application to licensing and therefore take longer than necessary.

Identified Delays:

·  Incomplete workbooks

·  Issues with ID

·  Forms not being Completed

·  Changes of Details

·  Non Attendance to the course

·  Incorrect enrollment info for Certificates

·  Not keeping appointments with Admin or Trainer

CERTIFICATES:

We have 21 days to issue a Certificate; however, we do endeavor to process as a priority. Delays are often beyond our control.

Assistance Post Course Employment:

Whilst we cannot guarantee employment, we do assist our clients to obtain work; this is done by circulating a list of graduates to Security Companies, as well as our Sister Company. Where possible giving clients who apply a few shifts to get them started. All our clients can by appointment seek our assistance with advice post course.

Information Sharing:

We are mindful of confidentiality, clients are asked to sign a form giving permission and stating that they are aware we will be sharing certain information with the Job Network/Centrelink and the Funding Body.
