PG&E Women’s Network Employee Association (WNEA)

2009 SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM

The Women’s Network Employee Association (WNEA)at Pacific Gas and Electric Companyseeks to recognize, promote, support and celebrate their women employees as well as the women in the communities around us. Our goals includechampioning career advancement and personal growth by offering development and mentorship opportunities, volunteer and community outreach and providing a forum to discuss and acknowledge the many demands women face in the workplace.

Through a partnership with the Women’s Foundation of California, the WNEA administers an annual scholarship program which awards deservingstudentswho reside in PG&E’s service area of Central and Northern Californiawith monetary support fortheir higher education expenses.

The WNEA aims to support students who are graduating high school seniors and that are pursuing degrees or careers in fields where PG&E has an interest, such as the engineering, IT business, environmental, or other majors related to the energy field. Selections are determined upon GPA, academic strength, leadership experience, community involvement, financial need, and areas of academic interest. Final round interviews may also be requested.
