THE PRESIDENT OF THE EUROPEAN PARLIAMENT ANTONIO TAJANI INAUGURATES THE ORO D’AUTORE COLLECTION ON DISPLAY AT THE MUSEUM OF TREASURES, AREZZO

On the occasion of OROAREZZO, from 6th to 9th May, visitors will have the chance to admire jewellery from the Oro d’Autore Collection in the prestigious venue of the 14th century Palazzo di Fraternità

Arezzo, 6th May 2017 – On the occasion of its 38th edition,OROAREZZOis set to inaugurate the Oro d’AutoreCollectionat the Museum of Treasures, Arezzo whose permanent collections feature some of the most significant treasures of the city of Arezzo. The opening of the museum venue, located inside the prestigious Palazzo di Fraternità, shall be celebrated in the presence of Antonio Tajani, President of the European Parliament, thePresident of the Tuscany Region, Enrico Rossi and the Mayor of Arezzo, Alessandro Ghinelli, in an eagerly awaited ceremony on Saturday 6th May at 9.30 am.

A moment to involve the general public, a homage to the design and elegance of Made in Italy jewellery. A precious exposition and an innovative route curated by Beppe Angiolini, Art Director of OROAREZZO and Honorary President of the National Chamber of Fashion Buyers, featuring the most important and creative jewellery pieces from the contemporary gold smithery art collection. For the first time ever, visitors of OROAREZZO will have the chance to admire jewellery from the Oro d’Autore Collection created by Arezzo Fiere e Congressi. An innovative exhibition of 82 unique and exclusive jewellery pieces by gold smithery companies based in Arezzo and Vicenza, in collaboration with internationally acclaimed artists, designers, artists and stylists, will guide visitors along an evocative,extraordinary and original journey through time.

The exhibition's iconic jewellery includes the pendant-brooch by Arnaldo Pomodoro, the bracelet by Nicola Carrino, the necklace by Dolce & Gabbana and the sculpture by the architect Gae Aulenti dedicated to Piero della Francesca who created some of his most admired works right here in Arezzo.An exhibition of magical jewellery pieces which pay homage to the design and elegance of Made in Italy jewellery, along an original route through time and cultures. An ambitious project developed along an evocative journey, stirring identity and pride in the Arezzo gold smithery sector, confirming the venue as a hub for excellence to be continuously visited. A narrative twine which recounts the city's beauty produced during the course of history and throughout the phases of cultural growth: from ancient and Medieval gold smithery techniques, to the Etruscan's knowledge of the art, right up to the essence of the tradition of excellence within Arezzo artisanship.

The exhibition route continues and leads through an evocative atmosphere under Minerva's gaze, goddess of knowledge, the ancient bronze piece discovered in 1541 at the church of San Lorenzo and which has been brought to Arezzo for this occasion, from the National Archaeological Museum, Florence.
