Weekly Fellowship Report Guidelines

Thank you for being active in Superior Rotary. During most of our weekly meetings we devote time for a fellowship report, or a sharing of some of the fun, family and service-oriented things in which our members are active.

This 5-minute fellowship “report” is a time to highlight what our members are doing in the community. Please try to find positive, community building articles in the popular periodicals that mention or make “implied” reference to the member, his or her family members or their businesses. Often members are on other boards in the community, which makes an ideal excuse to “fine” the member when their volunteer endeavors are recognized.Caution: do not fine a member for a paid advertisement for his or her business.

If you are not familiar with our members, please use the Clubmate rosterwith pictures to help you remember them as you go through the articles. The roster will list the member and his or her business.

Good sources of information include:

Daily TelegramDuluth News Tribune

Rotarian MagazineBusinessNorth

Chamber of Commerce ConnectionChurch Bulletins

You can also use the Internet to look up back issues. Feel free to use other, free publication like Twin Ports People. Annual reports for SMDC, NBC, HRA and other businesses are usually a gold mine.

Fines are as follows: $1.00 per mention in an article with $2 per member limit.

Members are encouraged to voluntarily pay a larger fine for a photo, or for any other reason, however, anything over $2 is welcomed but not expected.

You may also assess a fine for members who are not wearing their Rotary Pin and other creative things. For example, you can make up a guessing game or trivia contest that is either Rotary or Current Event related. Test your knowledge of the subject of today’s program, etc.

Remember to end each segment with the question “Are there any fellowship fines On Your Honor?”

Thanks for being a part of the Superior Rotary Club! By agreeing to handle Fellowship for the month, it will be your “responsibility” to find your own replacement member if you cannot be there on the weeks you agreed to. Questions can be directed to me: Dan Diamon 591-4210
