Manual Settings for setting up ASW mail in Outlook

This tutorial shows you how to set up Microsoft Outlook 2003® to work with your Autism Society of Washington e-mail account. These settings are similar in other versions of Microsoft Outlook, so you will be able set up other versions of Microsoft Outlook by using the settings in this tutorial.

  1. In Microsoft Outlook, from the E-mail Accounts menu, select Tools.

  1. On the E-mail Accounts wizard window, select Add a new e-mail account, and then click Next.

  1. For your server type, select POP3or IMAP, and then click Next.

On the Internet E-mail Settings (POP3/IMAP) window, enter your information as follows:

Your Name: Your first and last name.

E-mail Address: YOUR

User Name: YOUR

Password: Your email account password

Incoming mail server (POP3): mail.autismsocietyofwa.org
Outgoing mail server (SMTP): mail.autismsocietyofwa.org

  1. Click More Settings.

  1. On the Internet E-mail Settings window, go to the Outgoing Servertab.
  2. Select My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication.
  3. Select Use same settings as my incoming mail server. (Note: If you changed the user name and password in the SMTP relay section of your Manage Email Accounts page, select Log on using and enter the user name and password. The following example assumes you did not change your SMTP relay section in your Manage Email Accounts page.)

  1. Go to the Advancedtab, use default settingfor Incoming server and Outgoing server (SMTP)should be 26.

You may want to select Leave a copy of messages on the server to ensure the ability to retrieve messages that have been accidentally or for other reasons deleted. In this case, be sure to select Remove from server after 10 days. Youcan change the number selection if you prefer more days – we suggest 30 days.

  1. Click OK.

  1. At this point, you may want to select Test Account Settings. You should see a confirmation message that your account has been successfully set up (you will find a test email in your Outlook inbox).
  2. Click Next.
  3. Click Finish.
