Español 1: Final Exam—SPEAKING ASSESSMENT

ASSIGNMENT: You will narrate and record a VIDEO TOUR OF YOUR HOME,* describing rooms and people in detail, upload it to SV Tube, and share it with your teacher.

GOAL: Utilize an extensive vocabulary and creative, complex sentences to demonstrateyour level of proficiency in Spanish and the depth of knowledge you have gainedthis year. This means that you will want to incorporate vocabulary and grammar from all four units (Getting to Know You, Family, School, Home/Community)

INCLUDE:

  • Names of rooms and where they are located relative to other rooms (at least 4)
  • Descriptions of rooms, using adjectives
  • Introduction, description and activities of people in each room (at least 4, and make sure you have a person and/or pet in each room doing something).
  • Appropriate introduction and conclusion to your tour

¡OJO! Remember that “description” can mean using adjectives, talking about peoples’ likes/dislikes and preferences, expressing someone’s age, talking about what they typically do or what their future plans are.

*Most people will choose to show their own home; however, if you would prefer, you can show a relative’s, friend’s or neighbor’s home. You may also complete the project with a partner and provide a tour of ONE home together--- if you do this, you EACH must provide a complete description of 4 rooms so there will be a total of 8 in your video.

EXAMPLE:

“Esta es la yarda. La yarda es muy grande y verde. La yarda está detrás de la casa. Mi hermano y el perro están en la yarda. Mi hermano es atlético y tiene diez años.A él le gusta jugar a los deportes. Él mira la television a menudo, pero hoy él está practicando el fútbol. Él va a jugar al fútbol con sus amigos este verano.”
