Bradford Community Environment Project (BCEP) Community Force Award Bid
BCEP is applying for a NatWest Community Force Award aiming to contribute to the sustainable regeneration of Bradford district, through effective environmental programmes, inspired by community need. Vote now to support them in their bid. BCEP plan to use the Community Force award forconsulting with local groups as to what features they would like to see developed at Wibsey Community Gardens, such as natural play area, community orchard, communal growing areas, wildlife garden, compost demonstration area or similar. They will use the £6,000 to install some of the elements they identify.
B&Q Waste Donation Scheme
B&Q operates a waste donation scheme through all stores. This scheme allows donation of waste materials, for example slightly damaged tins of paint, off-cuts of timber, odd rolls of wallpaper and end of range materials, to community groups, charities and schools.
CO2sense - Environment Voucher Scheme
The CO2sense Environment Voucher Scheme provides funding and advice for small and medium-sized businesses in Yorkshire and the Humber to help them save money, resources and carbon by changing how they use energy, water and waste.

Big Lottery Fund’s Silver Dream Fund
Funding for new ways to support older people, whilst building on the wealth of experience and skills that they have to offer to others, including their families, neighbourhoods, and local communities. The challenge is to come up with a great idea that will pioneer ways to help vulnerable older people deal more effectively with life-changing events.

Community Radio Fund UK (£5,000 - £17,000 approx)
The Community Radio Fund has been established by Ofcom to help fund the core costs of running a community radio station.Under the fund, Community Radio Stations are being invited to apply for funding to support their core running costs.

Kellogg's Swim Active Programme
The scheme provides grants to help support not for profit organisations to run swim-based activities and projects. The objectives of the programme are to enhance the motivation to swim,

Community Builders Fund
The Communitybuilders Fund, previously owned by the Department of Community and Local Government is now an endowed fund, owned and administered by the Adventure Capital Fund. It supports neighbourhood-based, community-led organisations to become more sustainable through a mixture of loans, grants and business support.

This lunchtime briefing from Electroville, the Kirklees-based ICT Support organisation for the Voluntary sector looks at ways to improve effectiveness by the use of a) a database that also measures social impact and b) social media such as blogs, Facebook, Twitter and YouTube.
