WOOL MARKET REPORT – 1 MARCH 2017

On the 24th wool auction of the 2016/2017 season, the Cape Wools merino wool market indicator increased by

2,0% to close on 16256c per kg clean.

Average clean wool price indicators for good quality long fleece wool (MF4/MF5) with a tenstile strength of

35 (NKT) were as follows:

18 µ 19761 (+3,3%) 21 µ 14616 (+1,8%)

19 µ 18367 (+3,2%) 22 µ 14286 (+0,7%)

20 µ 15826 (+1,8%) 23 µ 14190 (+0,5%)

The main buyers on the sale were: G Modiano (5,186 bales), Standard Wool (3,075 bales),

Lempriere South Africa (2,271 bales). Of the 12,131 bales offered 12,014 bales were declared sold (99%).
