Estimated Revenue by Batch Input and FTP
Description of Business Need
Researching, preparing the data entry forms, and manually entering estimated revenues is a time consuming, labor intensive process which can be prone to errors. In the same way that automated processes exist for other transactions, estimated revenues need to be permitted by batch input and FTP.
Suggested Solution
Modify FLAIR to permit agencies to include Transaction 21 records through the FTP in batch mode and maintain consistency with the many other transations for which this facility is available.
Benefits
Staff time currently required for this data entry will be reduced by single system processing replacing dual system processing (DOH Source Systems & FLAIR), data accuracy will improve, and the quantity of data corrections will be reduced.
Additional Information
During FY05–06, DOH input 12443 TR21 transactions into FLAIR related to Estimated Revenues. During FY06-07, this grew to 13119. In the 1st 2 quarters of FY07–08, DOH had 9811 of these transactions. Currently, DOH systems provides data for the manual entry which could be automated.
