2004 GROWTH AND CUSTOMER DEMAND AT ENTERPRISE RENT-A-CAR CREATES NEED TO HIRE 6,500

Company Ranks Number One on THE BLACK COLLEGIAN Magazine’s

List of Top 100 Employers of College Graduates

ST. LOUIS, March 2, 2004 – Enterprise Rent-A-Car, North America’s largest rental car company, announced today that it plans to hire some 6,500 people in 2004 due to its continued growth and consumer demand at its more than 5,000 neighborhood and airport locations.

The demand for new employees is a result of robust growth in the company’s Car Rental, Fleet Services, Car Sales, and Truck Rental divisions. For the most part, Enterprise will be seeking candidates for its Management Training Program, where nearly 100 percent of its operational employees get their start.

"Our steady growth has created a continual need at Enterprise for college educated individuals to join our management training program. These motivated entry-level employees are taught the business from the ground up with a strong focus on building exceptional customer service skills," said Ed Adams, Enterprise's senior vice president of human resources. "We are not surprised to be named a top employer. Throughout the struggling economy of recent years, we were able to offer our employees something beyond a job -- a career."

Typically, all company employees begin their careers in the Enterprise management training program, learning firsthand the Enterprise brand of customer service, and developing the skills needed to manage, grow, and build the business.

“A high percentage of management trainees are running their own Enterprise branches within two to three years,” said Adams. “Our company’s business model provides a solid foundation in business operations and true entrepreneurship that few, if any, companies in any industry offer.”

Many Enterprise employees come directly from college campuses across the nation. In recognition of the number of graduates the company hires, THE BLACK COLLEGIAN magazine recently ranked Enterprise Number One on its list of the Top 100 Employers of college graduates.

“We are happy to announce that Enterprise Rent-A-Car was ranked at the top of our list as the number one employer for the Class of 2004,” said Preston J. Edwards, Sr. the magazine’s publisher. “We applaud the company for its longstanding commitment to providing opportunities that help jumpstart the careers of thousands of college graduates, as well as for its commitment to being an inclusive workplace.”

THE BLACK COLLEGIAN is a career and self-development publication that targets African-American students seeking information on careers and job opportunities. It is distributed on more than 800 campuses nationwide.

Enterprise Rent-A-Car operates more than 600,000 Rental and Fleet Services vehicles worldwide and has annual revenues of more $6.9 billion. Last year, Enterprise opened more than 300 new locations, increasing its total locations to more than 5,500. Enterprise is currently number 16 on the Forbes “500 Largest Private Companies in America” list. For more information about Enterprise visit www.enterprise.com.
