FANCY FRUIT SALAD

INGREDIENTS:

1 apple1 can lemon/lime drink (Sprite, 7-Up, etc.)For decoration:

1 orangeOptional fruits: 1 kiwiLime, whipped topping

2 pineapple ringsstrawberriescherries, umbrellas

½ banana grapes

DIRECTIONS:

______1. Get out the cutting board, mixing bowl, paring knives, and apple corer.

______2. Pare, core, and quarter the apple. Slice the apple into bite-sized pieces and

put them into the large bowl.

______3. Peel, section, and slice the orange into bite-sized pieces and place them in the bowl.

______4. Cut the pineapple rings into chunks and put them in the bowl.

______5. Peel and slice the banana into bit-sized pieces and place them in the bowl.

______6. ADD OPTIONAL FRUITS:

______Kiwi: pare the kiwi like an apple and put it into the bowl.

______Grapes: Wash the grapes thoroughly in a colander and put them in the bowl.

______Strawberries: Wash the strawberries thoroughly in a colander. Cut off the

tops of the strawberries and place the trimmed strawberries in the bowl.

______7. Toss the salad, then serve it in goblets.

______8. At home you could add Jell-O, pudding, or any other item to the salad. Because of time, we will put food coloring in the glasses and then pour the

lemon-lime drink over the salad.

______9. Have your teacher put on the whipped topping. You put on the cherry.

______10. Slice a lime and put it on the edge of the goblet for decoration. You can also

use umbrellas and straws.

CLEAN UP:

______1. Fill the sinks with water. Wash the dishes. Save the goblets for last and be

careful when washing them.

______2. Dry and put away the dishes. Be careful with the goblets. Set them back

where they can’t get bumped. If you are in the last class of the day,

return the goblets to the teacher.

______3. Get out the dish drainer. Set the table with placemats, small plates, spoons,

and napkins.

______4. Wipe off all the counters, stoves, etc. Remove any fruit from the sink or floor.

______5. Return the tray. Sit at your table until the teacher has checked your lab.
