Dear Parents

Operation Pinprick: During Lent we are supporting Operation Pinprick raising funds for Villa El Salvador in Peru. Please use the smartie tube which your child has been given to save 20p coins during Lent. Thank you to those families who have returned their smartie tubes.

Lenten Charity Fundraising: There will be 3 cake sales during March.

9th March – Reception, Years 1 and 2

16th March – Years 3 and 4

23rd March – Years 5 and 6

We welcome donations of cakes from families on the date of your child’s year group. Cakes will be available for children throughout the school to buy on these dates.

Easter Egg Raffle: We are holding a whole school Easter Egg raffle. Every child who brings in an Easter Egg will be given a free raffle ticket. Raffle tickets may also be bought for 20p each. The draw will take place on Wednesday 28th March. Monies raised from the Easter Egg raffle and the cake stalls will go to the charity Streetlife, supporting Mike Elston who is sleeping out in St John’s Square on Friday 23rd March to raise awareness of homelessness amongst young people. There is more information on the website and donations may be made on Mr Elston’s just giving pageat or handed into the school office.

Own Clothes Day: On Friday 23rd March we will be supporting the Kindergarten Lenten Charity, Hemichat for Cerebal Palsy Awareness. Children may pay £1 to wear their own clothes including an item of green or purple.

Easter Lunch: The cook will be preparing an Easter Lunch on Tuesday 27th March. The menu will be:

Roast Chicken

Or

Roast Quorn Fillet

With stuffing ball and gravy, Roast and creamed potatoes, Broccoli and carrots

Or

Tomato and Mascarpone Pasta

With garlic dough balls and side salad

Easter shortbread biscuit

The meal is covered by the Infant Free School Meal Scheme for children in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 and is priced £2.20 for children in Years 3 – 6. If your child does not usually have a school lunch on a Tuesday and would like to join the Easter meal, please complete the reply slip and return by Friday 16th March.

First Holy Communion: The first sessionis tomorrow, Wednesday 7th March, at St Peter’s Church, 6pm – 7pm.

Royal Shakespeare Theatre: Year 4 will be performing Macbeth with schools from across the local area at The Grand Theatre Blackpool on Thursday 8th March at 1pm and 6pm.

Last Choir Singing Competition: Thursday 15th March at the Marine Hall Fleetwood beginning at 6.30pm.

Birthday Lunch: Children whose birthday falls in March are welcome to join the birthday table on Wednesday 28thMarch. The meal will be the hot or cold meal of the day and is priced £2.20 for Junior children. The meal is covered by the Infant Free School Meal Scheme for children in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 with a charge of 50p to cover the ‘birthday extras’.

PTFA: The next meeting of the PTFA will be held tomorrow, Wednesday 7th March, at 7.30pm at Lytham Cricket Club. The Bunny Bop will be held on Friday 23rd March, 6pm – 8pm, at Lytham Cricket Club. Tickets for this popular event will go on sale on Wednesday 14th March.
