ONAGA FBLA OFFICER SELECTIONS

  1. Officer selections will be held annually in the spring.
  2. An application & RESUME must be submitted by the deadline.
  3. Officer candidates must be in FBLA for a year before running for an office.
  4. Officer candidates running for FBLA president must not be serving as president of another organization.
  5. Each officer candidate needs to be able to commit to the following events:

Attend Chapter Meetings including AnnualAwards Ceremony

Join FBLA at Onaga High School next fall—$10 dues

Attend all officer meetings

Participate in District / State Leadership Conferences – At least (1) one competitive event.

  1. If an officer fails to uphold their responsibilities, the officer will need to step down from office. The advisor will then find a replacement. If there are extenuating circumstances concerning absences, the decision of the advisor will be final.

ONAGA FBLAOFFICER DUTIES

It is important for officers to know their responsibilities and to take their position seriously.

PRESIDENT

  1. Discuss agenda for each meeting with sponsor & type the agenda for all meetings. Run one copy for each member and sponsor. (Sponsor can help you.)
  2. Schedule the meetings and make dates for the meetings. Work with sponsor on this, too.
  3. Be in attendance at each meeting.

VICE PRESIDENT

  1. Take the president’s place in case he/she is absent.
  2. Be in attendance at each meeting.
  3. Be chairperson of each committee except fundraising committee.

SECRETARY

  1. Type the minutes of each meeting before the next meeting. (Copy to the sponsor.)
  2. In charge of assisting sponsor for preparing district and state registrations.
  3. In charge of keeping the FBLA bulletin board area up to date (next to Counselor’s Office). Sponsor will help.
  4. Be in attendance at each meeting.

TREASURER

  1. Be responsible for preparing the treasurer’s report.
  2. Assist sponsor in collecting money for dues, registrations, etc. Assist sponsor in depositing money collected.
  3. Be chairperson of fundraising committee.
  4. Be in attendance at each meeting.

PUBLIC RELATIONS / REPORTER

  1. In charge of compiling the FBLA scrapbook, photos, etc. Needs to be ready for the Awards Ceremony each April.
  2. In charge of putting together any handouts, signs, newsletters, articles, or Powerpoints, as needed.
  3. Be in attendance at each meeting.

STU-CO REP.

  1. Attend Student Council Meetings.
  2. Attend FBLA Meeting – Report back.
