MINUTES OF THE NHDLHA GENERAL MEETING
MONDAY 15 MAY 2017 AT NEWCASTLEGOLF CLUB
Meeting opened at 9.15 am

Moved by Newcastle and seconded by Shortland Waters that apologies be accepted. Carried.
Minutes:
Minutes of the NHDLGA General Meeting held on Friday, 10th March 2017 were taken as read. Moved by Shortland Waters and seconded by TanilbaBay that they are now ready to be signed as a true and correct record.

Treasurer’s Report:
June Ernst presented her financial report to the Association and moved, seconded by TanilbaBaythat her report be accepted.Carried.
Captain’s Report:
Captain, Robyn Winter’s report to the Association was read by President Lyn Wootton. Moved Shortland Waters seconded Newcastle that the Captain’s report be accepted. Carried.
Golf NSW Advisory Committee Report
Sue Wilson and Lyn Cooper’s report from the above committee meeting of 20 April 2017 was circulated. Sue Wilson was in attendance and spoke to their report. Discussion took place about declining club membership particularly in respect of more social clubs being formed. Sue Wilson acknowledged that Golf NSW saw this issue as one of their main areas to address in future development of the game. Golf NSW will focus on gaining membership particularly from juniors and females. Clubs should make their own decision concerning membership categories and eligibility in club events.
General Business:
(a)Allocation of District Events
2 year plan was circulated to the meeting and there being no questions was adopted.
(b)New Website
Lorraine O’Connor asked for comments about the new website and all agreed that it looks good, easy to find items and enter names for District events. There are two steps in entering events. 1. Fill in online form and 2. Either direct debit or deposit into District bank account. Entries will not be accepted until payment has been made. Lorraine asked that if any errors or omissions are found on the site to please email her at with corrections needed.

Other General Business:
(a)Peter Porter Cup.
Jenny Thompson (Newcastle) asked if the District could field 4 female players instead of 2 players in the Peter Porter Cup to be played later in the year. President, Lyn Wootton indicated that the District could accommodate this request.
(b)Beryl Tobin Events
It was asked of all clubs, when submitting flyers could they please indicate if the event is a Beryl Tobin Event. When submitting Open Day dates for next year at the AGM could it also be noted if a Beryl Tobin Event. The District, in the future, will endeavour to indicate on the website Beryl Tobin Events.
Upcoming District Events:
Ladies District Foursomes – Monday 19 June at NelsonBay
Mixed District Foursomes – Sunday 2 July at Charlestown
Vet’s Salver – Monday 24 July at Maitland
President Lyn Wootton encouraged all clubs to enter the above mentioned events.
Next General Meeting 14 August 9am Newcastle Golf Club with Pennant Meeting to follow.
There being no further business, President Lyn Wootton closed the meeting at 9.55am and invited everyone to stay longer and have another cuppa, a scone and a chat.
