On Wednesday, September 23rd, 2015, from 6:30 PM – 7:30 PM, Saint Clement will host a sports-parenting workshop for parents of athletes competing in the organization’s upcoming season. Presented by Stanford University-based Positive Coaching Alliance (PCA), the workshop is titled, “The Second-Goal Parent: Tips and Tools to Develop Winners in Life Through Sports.

“Working with hundreds of youth sports organizations around the United States, PCA has developed practical tools and guidelines to help sports parents help their children get the most out of sports,” said Partner Representative Mike Hurley, Athletic Directorat Saint Clement. “We recognize the tremendous opportunity for character-building sports offers for today’s youth, so we are embracing PCA’s Double-Goal Coach® model, where winning is one goal and teaching life lessons is the second, more-important goal, and we also are introducing PCA’s Second-Goal Parent philosophy, where parents focus on the second goal, helping their children take life lessons from sports.”

“We are delighted thatSaint Clement is introducing the Second-Goal Parent approach to youth sports,” said PCA Executive Director Jim Thompson. “Together, we and Saint Clement will strive to get parents and coaches onto the same page so they can help create a positive, character-building youth sports environment for their youth athletes.”
