Nicole Berube from CitySeed will present information on how to reach out to individuals with food assistance benefits including WIC and Senior FMNP, the new WIC CVV, and SNAP (formerly known as Food Stamps). CitySeed operates a network of 5 farmers' markets in New Haven and was the first farmers' market in the state to accept SNAP via the wireless terminal system.

SWD IPM ASAP (Spotted wing drosophila IPM, As soon as possible) Rich Cowles, CAES, Valley Lab, will be discussing the history and natural history of this pest, currently registered options available for its management, and research results from my laboratory that should provide better options than conventional approaches to manage this pest from the perspective of reduced impacts on natural enemies, reduced pesticide residues on ripe fruits. Some of these advanced IPM techniques are organically acceptable.
