ANNUAL BUS TRIP ACROSS GEORGIA SETTO VISIT

SIX ACHIEVING PUBLIC SCHOOLS; TWO IN ATLANTA

WHAT:The 17th annual Bus Trip Across Georgia is visitingsixpublic schools and programs, including two in Atlanta,that are doing things right. The tour provides recognition for their efforts and showcases best practices that might be adapted and used elsewhere. The six schools were chosen from 60 nominations. The theme this year is “Georgia’s Public Schools: Achieving Results Through Innovation.”

WHO:More than70 education stakeholders representing business, government, education and citizen groups will participate as riders on two tour buses. Several other participants will join the tour at the respective sites.

WHY:The purpose of the tour is both to honor achieving schools and give education stakeholders from various parts of the state a chance to see what is working in these schools. Hopefully, they will take many of the best practices they see back to their own communities.
