Objective

I am seeking to develop my skills further within the Industry. I would like to transfer my HNC in Engineering to Nautical Science Foundation Degree Level whist gaining practical experience at sea. My effectiveness to deliver an exemplary standard of Engineering would therefore make me an excellent asset for a prospective employer

Personal Profile

I would describe my personality as steadfast, confident and diligent. I always strive to maintain a level of professionalism within the workplace. I uphold a calm and productive manner if having to work under pressure. Being able to work unsupervised is a great strength of mine however I always value the understanding of ‘team-ethics’ and what this can purposely achieve for my colleagues, the employer and company. “Striving to achieve to my ‘maximum’ is always evident”.

Toyota (2008 – 2009) Production Worker

Working on ZZ Engine Block I was responsible for several assembling processes.

I was heavily involved in the continuous precision machining and quality control of car components before and after construction.

Process 1 - Lower Case

- Continuous precision machining and quality checking the lower case, which was added onto the engine block

Process 2 - Map Op and Final Visual

- Extensive visual check of ten lower cases units at a time before merging the lower case on to the block with knock pins

- Once completed I would then add 10 black crank cap bolts and also 10 silver bolts onto where an automated process would secure the full engine block together

Process 3 - CKD Packing

- Prior to this other colleagues would visually check in depth the overall quality of the engine block before it comes to the CKD process

- This process involves recovering the block into position for registration marking via an etching needle for identification purposes

- Once completed I would hoist each block into a module, which holds 16 blocks and prepare for exporting to assigned destinations across the world

All these processors where strictly monitored and had set times for their completion. Each working shift the team would complete maintenance checks on various machine stations. This was to ensure quality and continuous production. We were allocated 30 minutes each day and had to follow set instruction sheets to achieve the above

Education & Training

I have obtained a HND in Marine Engineering. I also obtained a National Cert equivalent to 4 A levels.

I have sailed with North Star Shipping on their supply ship The Grampian Talisman. I completed two 4-week periods in the North Sea on this vessel.

I have sailed with Navalmar (UK) Ltd on their dry cargo vessels. I completed a 4-month trip on The Leeds Castle and also a 1-month trip on the Colchester Castle both in international waters.
