We are either in Adam and will die, or in Christ and will live.

III.  COMPARISON OF FIRST ADAM AND LAST ADAM

Romans 5:12 Therefore, just as through one man sin entered the world, and death through sin, and so death spread to all men, because all sinned.

A.  We have sinned federally, through Adam as representative head. Because Adam sinned, death passed to all men.

I Corinthians 15:22 For as in Adam all die, so also in Christ all will be made alive.

B.  We have sinned seminally (genealogically) through Adam.

Hebrews 7:9-10 And, so to speak, through Abraham even Levi, who received tithes, paid tithes, 10 for he was still in the loins of his father when Melchizedek met him.

IV.  RESULTS OF THE TWO ADAMS

A.  Adam, the first federal head, disobeyed God’s imperative, and as a result, God took his Spirit out of Adam. We lost the Spirit.

B.  Jesus, the last Adam, the other federal head, provided us with His Spirit.

V.  ROMANS CHAPTER 5

Romans 5:12-13 Therefore, just as through one man sin entered into the world, and death through sin, and so death spread to all men, because all sinned- 13 for until the Law sin was in the world, but sin is not imputed when there is no law. 14 Nevertheless death reigned from Adam until Moses, even over those who had not sinned in the likeness of the offense of Adam, who is a type of him who was to come.
