WNYACCC Professional Development Grant Program

The Western New York Association of College Career Centers (WNYACCC) is pleased to make available funding for its members to pursue professional development opportunities. The purpose of this grant program is to assist members in developing their full professional potential and in preparing for advancement through involvement in qualified professional development activities.

Parameters

  • The Professional Development Grant Program provides a maximum individual grant of up to $1,500.
  • Applicants may submit only one project/activity per year, and may not receive grant money in two consecutive years.
  • Award recipients will be selected by a sub-committee of the WNYACCC Professional Development Committee.An evaluation rubric is available online for your assistance.
  • Applicants for this program must be professional staff members (not graduate assistants or interns) from one of WNYACCC’s member institutions.
  • The applicant must have been a member of WNYACCC for at least one full year before applying.

The types of programs that may be submitted include but are not limited to:

  • Registration, travel, fees, and related expenses for conferences, workshops, and trainings
  • Tuition for a course of interest (may not be toward advancement of a personal degree)
  • Support for a research project

Should you receive a professional development grant, you must:

  • Submit an evaluation and summary to WNYACCC within 30 days of completing the activity which includes an itemized listof all costs incurred including receipts. This summary will be shared with the membership excluding the budget.
  • Return any unused funds to the organization within 30 days of project completion
  • Share any relevant information and materials with colleagues preferably at a WNYACCC meeting

Applications

Applications are evaluated on a rolling basis from October 1 – May 1.Your proposal will be reviewed and you will be notified of the committee’s decision within 30 days of submitting your proposal. WNYACCC membership will be notified in the event that funds have been dispersed within a given year. Submitting your proposal early in the review cycle is highly recommended.

The following materials are required to be considered:

  • Updated resume
  • Statement indicating the amount of funds available from your college/university
  • Statement indicating any other grant support for the project/activity
  • Brochure, announcement, or relevant material describing the program and costs (Include links to applicable websites)
  • Any other supporting documentation

All materials must be typed and submitted electronically. Please return your application materials to the current WNYACCC Professional Development Grant Program Chair as listed on the WNYACCC website.

The funds requested here will be used solely for the purpose indicated above. Within 30 days of participating in this project I will submit an itemized budget with receipts as well as a one page summary of the experience and what was gained by participating. I will also provide WNYACCC with reimbursement for any unused funds. In addition, I am willing to present at aWNYACCC Professional Development Meeting regarding this topic if requested to do so.
