Systems Security Engineer

Clearance Required: TS/SCI CI Poly

Locations: Primarily Reston, VA and the DIAC at Bolling AFB

PCI was part of the winning team for a new contract supporting DIA. There are a number of funded openings, and the customer is eager to bring on new support.

Basic Task Description:

There are multiple systems security engineering support roles within this task. In general, the work involves performing engineering and planning functions in support of activities that enhance the security posture of the enterprise. These functions include supporting information S&IA- Systems Security Engineering- activities and information assurance analysis, as well as employing systems and Information Assurance best practices spanning product evaluation, testing, analysis, and providing recommendations, with consistent awareness on how it impacts both internal and external teams and organizations.

The contractor may be required to assess and provide recommendations for the operational balance between system efficiency and information assurance requirements. In addition, the contractor may be required to perform validation and verification analysis to determine if the information assurance provisions in place are adequate to meet the thresholds set for undetermined threats. These activities must occur on many levels; the policy and portfolio level to support, review, analyze and comment on Certification and Accreditation (C&A), at the program and project level to apply information systems security engineering.

DIA is working to improve its C&A and systems security engineering capabilities and speed up the overall process. This means pushing security engineering to the development phases and relying on trusted infrastructure and supporting systems to speed the C&A activities for applications and systems that reside on top of accredited cloud capabilities, such as hardened and accredited base operating systems.

Requirements/Qualifications:

-5+ years of systems security engineering experience (as an ISSO, ISSE, or IA operator)

-DOD 8570 qualifications

-Experience with ICITE and cloud systems accreditations is desired

-Experience working with development organizations to streamline accreditation process is desired

-Experience with implementing or leveraging continuous monitoring systems is desired

-Clearance Required: TS/SCI CI Poly
