4)Information

Nery shared that he had spoken to Dr. Cooke about a potential All College Day presentation on the equity information from the CUE Institute. Unfortunately, the agenda is already set for the January 2018 meeting, but she is open to doing it in the Fall. One thought is to focus on equity in the context of retention of employees once hired. Nery will talk to Chris Hill about this.

Sheri reported that the job announcement template for the full time faculty hires was changed to include many of the best practices shared at the CUE Institute. Planning is underway to train all members of full time faculty screening/interview committee members in January in the new processes, and James Wood from CUE will assist in these efforts. In approximately April and May the focus will shift to preparing for the next cycle of program review and looking for ways to ensure that there is a review of equity data and outcomes when program review is written for next year. This will involve talking to Chris Hill, the IPRC co-chairs (currently Steve Vail and Wendy Stewart) and the AAC chair (currently Suzie Bailey).

DEqCC report – Nery reported that the conference during Spring flex week will shift from a focus on students to the interpersonal relationships from faculty to faculty, faculty to staff, microaggressions etc. They are checking to see if the Fall conference can be part of the loadstar program for new full time faculty (to assist in retention efforts).

Sheri shared that an effort she would like to see undertaken is to revise the classified performance assessment form to include diversity, equity and inclusion.

5)Next meeting – to be determined after first of year by new committee chair
