THEATRE COMPANY ASSIGNEMENT

Theatre companies originated as early as the 14th century. Japanese and Italian travelling theatre troupes, made up of the same group of actors for every show, were known for their slapstick and sometimes vulgar comedy plays. Later, around Shakespeare’s time, theatre spaces became managed by owners who would rent out their facility to acting troupes. Now, theatre companies usually have their own theatre space and audition actors to perform their shows. If the show is very successful or in demand, they will sometimes go on a performance tour, and they are therefore considered a travelling theatre company.
