It’s hard to believe that fall is here already! The kids are back in school, the leaves are starting to change color, and the United Way campaign is upon us. I am writing to encourage you to give generously to the campaign this year. This year, we will be joining over 120 other organizations supporting our community.
When it comes to the education, financial stability and health of York County, United Way doesn’t just donate or make quick fixes, they work with local community members and organizations to figure out what our community needs most and drive lasting change. Their mission is to strengthen community conditions by bringing people and resources together to effect long lasting changes that improve lives. Building upon their current work, their new goals, below, will guidecommunity change through 2020:
•Priority Area: BRIGHT BEGINNINGS
5 year goal: All York County children, from birth through age 8, have the best start for lifelong learning & success.
•Priority Area: HEALTHY FOODS
5 year goal: The nutrition of all York County children & seniors is increased through healthy food and improved eating habits.
•Priority Area: CONNECTED YOUTH
5 year goal: All York County youth, ages 14-21, are valued by and contribute to the well-being of the community through service and philanthropy
• Priority Area: SUPPORTIVE SERVICES
5 year goal: Invest in services that support the plan priorities, strengthen families and build community capacity.
Please join the nearly 5,000 individuals that will make this year’s, and their long-term goals, a reality.
