The external materials have changed considerably and some of these new leaflets will need purchasing They have been chosen as they are very helpful.

P18 – 23 The Pregnancy facilitators and educational materials check list has been amended to include all new materials
PregnancyVisit 1 / P46 in the nurse guidance in E Family and Friends, point b, guidance has been added how to use the facilitator ‘My world ofsupport’ and/or ‘My village’ sociogram.
P 48 new external materials have been added.
P 49 in the Visit schedule section, “wrapping up” has been changed to “preparing to say goodbye”.
P67 Feelings about being pregnant. The questions have been swapped round so the facilitator ends on the positive.
P73 Antenatal checklist – one additional box re chicken pox has been added
Pregnancy Visit 2 / P83 the word “pants” has been replaced with “knickers”
P85 Ultrasound: Babys scan the correct spelling of ultrasonographer" has been added
P88 Point 9 “and your baby may be uncomfortable” has been added
Pregnancy Visit 3 / This visit has changed quite a lot, starting at P103, all the nurse guidance has been amended as new materials have been added
P107/8 Power and control wheels, the word “her” has been removed
P109 Abbreviations used UTI’s, PIH, STI’s – have been written in full and followed with abbreviations.
P111 a new facilitator “Chicken Pox in Pregnancy” has been added
P115 “Information for partnersabout sex during and afterpregnancy” has had the text amended slightly.
P117 “Dental care during pregnancy” has been completely re written.
P123 “Foods to avoid in pregnancy” is a new facilitator. It is designed to use the EPE framework, the first being to elicit what the client knows; the second is sharing information with her.
P129 “Mother’s/father’s typical day – guidance for Family Nurse” the first bullet has been amended to say “To determine how the client, father of her baby or partner spends 24 hours ina day”.
P131 Mothers typical day “accessing social networks/ texting” has been added
P133 Fathers typical day “accessing social networks/ texting has been added
P141 & 143“Smoking in pregnancy quiz” has been completely rewritten
P145 new nurse guidance for the benefits and drawbacks facilitator (this will be helpful reading for all facilitators of this type).

Pregnancy visit4 / P161 in the nurse guidance for Mental Health text has been amended to ensure that FNs read the guidance on using HADS in its entirety on FNP online. The old guidance has been removed from the guidelines
P162 The nurse guidance in the Alcohol Abuse section has been amended to include a new facilitator.
P173 this is new nurse guidance to the “My life History” facilitator
P179 the HADS has had one column removed
P183 this is new nurse guidance for the Alcohol in pregnancy new facilitator.

Pregnancy visit 6 / P205 Let’s think together has been added to the objectives of the visitand in the guidance section in Health maintenance practices part B.
P206 the nurse guidance in Maternal role part A has been amended to include a new facilitator “Breast changes in pregnancy” as well as fuller guidance on supporting the client’s choice of infant feeding.
P209-214 is the “Let’s think together” facilitator
P217 is a new facilitator “Breast changes in Pregnancy”
P219 the Feeding my baby benefits and drawbacks has had a reflective question added at the bottom. This will act as a prompt to elicit from the client further discussion and provide opportunities for summaries of change talk and development of discrepancy.
P221 is new nurse guidance for “Have youdecided yet?”
P223 “Have youdecided yet?” has been slightly amended
Pregnancy visit 7 / P235 The NCAST sleep activity record has been deleted and the nurse guidance in the contraception section has been amended to include a new facilitator “Body Image in pregnancy”

Pregnancy visit 8 / P261in the Behavioural and emotional care section the nurse guidance this been updated to first include a new facilitator “Name Calling” and second to support the client’s decision on a name for the baby. In addition some new guidance linking to NICE Clinical Guideline 62;
Antenatal Care, where fetal movement assessment is not recommended.
P275 -276 is the new facilitator “Name calling”
P285 is the new facilitator “Patterns of my baby”
P286 the Movement chart has changed its name to Patterns of my baby.

Pregnancy visit 10 / P333 Personal health, Health maintenance practices section, the guidance has been amended to include a new facilitator “Skin to Skin”
P335 the nurse guidance has been amended in the Maternal role Behavioural and emotional care section to include that FN having a conversation with the client about DANCE and observation.
P337 is the new facilitator “Skin to Skin”
Pregnancy visit 12 / P377 the nurse guidance in Health maintenance practices has been updated to ensure that the nurse explains to the client that a labour birth ball can be helpful.
P385 How I feel aboutparenting issues, the first question has been amended so that “sleep” now says “share.” Same on P387
Pregnancy visit 13 / P398, the nurse guidance has been updated. In maternal role Behavioural and emotional care, there is a new bullet to ensure discussion of the new facilitators “Making bath time nurturing and safe”, “Keeping your baby safe from drowning” and “Safe use of slings”.
