My apologies to the GCA membership for the lack of a May issue of the newsletter,I accept the full responsibility, the beginning of the month simply got away from me.Furthermore, the May event had to be cancelled because the hosts Tony and Skip opened their new packages store, making the Rainbow Springs outingimpossible. We had another changethat occurred regarding the newsletter that contributed to the missing issue. Effective immediately, Garrett Van Allen will become the editor in lieu of Jimmy Ebersole, who because of his many professional obligations is longer able to remain as chief editor, but will continue to assist Garrett where he can.I sincerely appreciate both these gentlemen continuing their volunteerism! Any e-mail concerning GCA /events/ announcements/directions should be addressed to .
I want to thank Jerry Patterson for his building a new look for our website, which can be viewed at The Board will give its input on June 7th at our next meeting. Again, all Board meeting are open to all, we hope that you can attend.
Mo Becnel has once again invited members to his home, Saturday, June 19th, for a volleyball/pool/and potluck day in LakeCity. As you know this and many other GCA events are always open to all. I hope more of you will consider the Dining Out events when presented. I actually had some hopes of putting together a Sunday brunch around the commemoration of "Stonewall Day", June 27th.With the major news from Massachusetts, and with the annual Pride festivals around the country (we will celebrate ours in Gainesville in October), I feel that we/GCA could enjoy a brunch together.Any feedback would be appreciated, or 373-3557.Suggestions----Ocala Hilton, Best Western Gateway Grande,Emiliano's, Leonardo's 706. If it does come about check your GCA Listserve or website for details. We may send another mail out, also. Guests and newcomers are always welcome,so welcome them and invite them. That is the only way we continue to provide an avenue into our community.
I hope you had a wonderful and safe Memorial Day and remembered our friends and family that are no longer with us, and give thanks for those who work to protect us everyday.
