THE PENINSULA HOTELS CLAIMS TOP FOUR ‘BEST ASIA CITY HOTELS,’ THE ‘BEST ASIA HOTEL SPA,’ AND THREE ‘HALL OF FAME’ HOTELS IN THE
2015 TRAVEL + LEISURE WORLD’S BEST AWARDS
The Peninsula Shanghai is voted the Best City Hotel in Asia,
and The Peninsula Bangkok is named the Best Hotel Spa in Asia
The Peninsula Hotels has swept the top four positions on the Best Asia City Hotels ranking list, as voted by the readers of influential US-based travel and lifestyle publication Travel + Leisure in its 2015 World’s Best Awards. The Peninsula ranked third in the overall Top Hotel Brands Category, a rise of four places from the seventh position achieved on the 2014 reader survey.
The Peninsula also counted six hotels ranked in the Top 100 Best Hotels Worldwide by Travel + Leisure readers, the details of which are published in the August 2015 issue of the magazine. The Peninsula Shanghaiplaced eighth, while The Peninsula Hotels in Bangkok, Hong Kong, Tokyo, Beijing and Beverly Hills were also honoured. In addition, The Peninsula Bangkok, The Peninsula New York and The Peninsula Chicago were denoted as Hall of Fame members for making the World’s Best Hotels list for ten consecutive years.
Leading the way is The Peninsula Shanghai, which was named as the 2015 Best City Hotel in Asia, and placed eighth on the Top City Hotels Worldwide list. The Peninsula Bangkok was voted in second place on the Best City Hotels in Asia list, with The Peninsula Hong Kong third and The Peninsula Tokyo fourth. The Peninsula Beijing placed eighth, giving The Peninsula Hotels five of the top ten Best City Hotels in Asia.
In addition to the success of The Peninsula Shanghai in the Best City Hotels in Asia category, The Peninsula Bangkok – which hosts the first dedicated Peninsula Wellness Centre to coordinate all of the group’s spa and beauty treatments and product offerings – was votedTop Hotel Spa in Asia.
In the 2015 Best US City Hotel section, The Peninsula Beverly Hills claimed fifth place, and The Peninsula New York placed tenth.
The Best City Hotels in Asia, Top Hotel Spas in Asia and the US Best City Hotels categories form part of the annual World’s Best Awards reader survey published by Travel + Leisure, a publication that is widely recognised as a leading global authority on travel and tourism trends. Each year, the readers of Travel + Leisure are asked to cast their votes for the hotels, airlines, car rental companies, destinations, airports, cruise lines and tour operators that represent the very best in worldwide travel across a range of different categories.

In the World’s Best Hotels section of the survey, respondents are asked to rate hotels on room quality and facilities, location, service standards, restaurants and food, and overall value, plus optional characteristics for business and family travellers, for romance, for bars and nightlife and for design. The World’s Best Hotels Awards are subdivided into six regional categories: United States and Canada; Mexico, Central and South America; Asia; Europe; Australia, New Zealand and the South Pacific; and Africa and the Middle East.
