Winter Concert Tuesday, December 5th at 7:30pm.

7th Grade Chorus is to report to the IHS Band Room at 6:40

8th Grade Chorus is to report to the IHS Chorus Room at 6:40

Please do not come too early, or arrive late.

Every student is to check in for rollimmediately upon arrival.

  • Every student is then to behave calmly and quietly. Getting rowdy will ruin your voice and your performance concentration and attitude. You will also get overheated in a crowded warm-up room. Focus on the hard work that you have put in and on the terrific performance you will give.
  • Any student who misbehaves before the concert (all-day rehearsal, backstage, etc.) will be removed from the concert.

NOTE TO PARENTS: It works far more successfully for youto wait in the auditorium for your child to come to you. It is much easier than trying to locate your child in a crowded lobby or hallway.

Concert Outfits

  • 7th Grade in uniform slacks and Seneca Chorus polo shirt. Black flat shoes (not sneakers or backless shoes), black socks.
  • 8th Grade in uniform slacks tuxedo shirts, vests, black flat shoes (not sneakers or backless) and black socks. Bowties will be handed out in the warm-up room. HELP each other to get the bowties on as soon as you check in for the roll.

EACH 8TH GRADE STUDENTmust return the bowtie to the parent who distributed it to them, and then must have his/her name checked off the return list before leaving the concert.

ALL STUDENTS must have hair in the prescribed styles. All hair must be pulled securely away from the face. At least the sides and front must be pulled up. No tendrils. Bangs should be above eyebrow level. Braided hairdos are the best.

  • Girls may wear ONE pair of very small earrings.
  • Boys may not wear earrings.
  • Girls, some blush and lipstick (rosey--not pale colors) helps the look for stage.

Concert Participation

Is required of all Chorus students. Acceptable excuse is a death in the immediate family, or serious illness of the student. Mrs. Barker must be notified in either of these events so that plans can be made around the change in events. These students will be given the alternate assignment of a research paper. The specifics will be outlined personally to those students after the concert. Any other absences will be considered a skip, and a failing concert grade will result. If your child is truly ill, please do not send them to the concert. Putting a child onstage to perform when he/she is ill is not good for the child or for the performance and health of rest of the students.
