·  Men may only enter one Age Group event.
In addition, the Men’s National Championship may be entered.

·  Women may enter more than one age group

VENUE

All matches will be played at the National Squash Centre in Manchester.

ELIGIBILITY

Any player shall be entitled to enter the championships provided:

·  That he/she is qualified to represent England, Ireland, Scotland or Wales on the closing date for entries.

·  That he/she has not competed in the National Closed Championship of a country other than England, Ireland, Scotland or Wales during the preceding or current year.

·  That Irish, Scottish or Welsh players are members of their National Association on the closing date for entries and English competitors are player members of England Squash for the 2004/2005 season.

·  That for age group categories he/she has attained the appropriate age on 6 February 2005.

FORMAT
Men’s and Women’s National Championships

The Men’s draw size will be restricted to a maximum of 32 (24 + 8 qualifiers). Qualifying competitions will be played on 6+7 February, with the last eight players qualifying for the main Championships.

The Women’s draw size will be restricted to a maximum of 16 (12 + 4 qualifiers). Qualifying competitions will be played on 7+8 February, with the last four players qualifying for the main Championships.

Any player withdrawing at any time from the first round main draw will be replaced, if possible by a reserve taken from the list of qualifiers. Once qualification has begun, a withdrawal from the first round of the main draw will be replaced with a lucky loser from the final round of qualifying. England Squash reserve the right to reschedule matches at any time.

Age Group Championships

The draws for these events will depend upon the number of entries and may be restricted,
if necessary.

Plate events will be run for the Masters categories.

The right is reserved to cancel any event not reaching a minimum number of entries.


Playing Regulations

Point-a-rally scoring to 11 will be used for the Men’s Championship. International scoring (to 9) will be used for all other Championships.

A lower tin (17”) will be used for all Men’s main draw and qualifying matches.

PROVISIONAL SCHEDULE OF PLAY

Session times will be confirmed after the closing date for entries. Competitors may be required to play at any time on any day of the Championships. England Squash reserves the right to alter this schedule.

ENTRIES

Entries close at 12 noon on Monday 10 January 2005. The entry fee of £17.50 per Category (Cheques payable to “England Squash”) must accompany the entry form

All players must complete an official entry form and send it to:

Entries may be faxed, but must be confirmed on the official entry from, together with the fee.

LATE ENTRIES WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED.

England Squash cannot be held responsible for entries lost in the post or sent by fax. If you require an acknowledgement of entry, please enclose a stamped addressed envelope, or call England Squash to check you entry has been received.

The size of the draw may be restricted. Any player not selected will be placed on a reserve list, unless they specify otherwise on the entry form.

The draws will be circulated to all competitors. Times of matches will be indicated on the draw.

TICKETS/SPECTATING

As the entire event is being held at the National Squash Centre and everybody will need tickets to access the building. All players will be given a players pass for the event and one guest pass for each day that they are playing. Further tickets will be available on the door. MEALS

Food and drink will be on sale at the venue at all times of play.

DOPING CONTROL

All players are informed that, by entering, they agree to accept doping control, if conducted at the Championships.

CODE OF CONDUCT

All players denote their agreement to abide by the England Squash Code of Conduct by entering the Championships.

CLOTHING

Players must wear suitable clothing for squash.

EVENT DIRECTION

The Championship will be administered by England Squash. The decision of the Championship Director will be final in all matters. England Squash reserves the right to alter the above regulations if deemed necessary at any time.
