1.  President’s Report – Cheral Jones:

·  Cheral welcomed the members

·  Cheral commented that the Chapter website should be a portal for all information (Florida website is a perfect example)

·  She brought up the idea of having quarterly Firesides with topics changing quarterly in Cities across the state.

·  The State Advisory Group/Committee for Training invited a representative from Oregon to talk about their model certification and training program. He shared with them their participation with the Oregon NIGP Chapter, and talked about past president Darin Matthews’s training and publications in Procurement Magazines as well as his books. After that meeting Cheral was invited to participate on the State Advisory Group/Committee.

2.  Vice President Report – Cathy Robinson:

Cathy stated that she had inquiries about scholarships to this year’s Forum in Florida, primarily for registration and travel, etc. What are our options on funding this? It was suggested to hold off on decisions until we receive an official request. At that time a discussion about amending the by-laws accordingly would be in order. As of yet, no official request has been submitted.

3.  Recording Secretary – Heidi Bohl for Tim Shay:

·  Heidi presented the minutes of March 27, 2013 which are embedded in this month’s agenda

·  Ken moved to accept the minutes, Cathy seconded, motion carried

4.  Treasurers Report – Ken Matthews:

·  Ken budget/finances are doing well, (see financial reports embedded in this month’s agenda.)

·  Ken suggested to only include the most current approved Treasurer’s Report in the Agenda.

5.  Membership Secretary’s Report – Cynthia Shaw:

·  No new members to report

·  Retention has been good

·  Cynthia commented that Cheral’s gap assessment lists great ideas on how to market and increase membership.

6.  Reverse Trade Show Committee – Ginny Justiniano/Glen McNeill:

Nothing to report at this time.

7.  Past President’s Report – Nelson Park:

·  The Idaho Chapter invited Nelson to their reversed trade-show. He indicated that the presentation and speaker were good. Ginny and Glen should reach out to Bob Kobza of the Idaho Chapter for ideas and guidance.

·  US Communities offered to participate at reverse trade-show.

8.  Committee Reports:

·  Education and Research – Theresa Teschlog

Past Classes

1.  CPPB class was attended by 13 purchasing professionals.

2.  Effective Contract Writing was attended by 25 purchasing professionals.

Upcoming Classes

1.  Developing & Managing RFP in the Public Sector is scheduled September 23rd through the 29th.

2.  Best Practices in Public Procurement is scheduled for November 6, 2013.

No Face-to-face CPPB class will be scheduled; members should utilize the on-line CPPB prep class.

·  Public Relations – Sue Ownby:

Sue indicated that call to help the Oklahoma Tornado victims has been posted to the website with a link to the Red Cross.

·  Chapter of the Year – Dave Davis/Cheral Jones

1.  Chapter of the Year submittal was completed on time with the help of Dave, Josh, Cynthia, Glenn, Cheral and Heidi. This was an excellent opportunity for us to see how much we have accomplished and what we need to focus on in the future.

2.  Cheral created and provided the board with a gap analyses based on the Chapter of the Year submittal.

·  Newsletter – Heidi Bohl

Continue to receive positive comments about the newsletter. The next newsletter will be published the beginning of June. It can be difficult to receive input from members that would like to share with their peers. Thank you to all of you who have an continue to contribute.

·  Philanthropy/Charitable Events – Heidi Bohl

Still looking for folks to become part of the committee and/or chair the committee. Call for volunteers will be in June’s newsletter.

·  Diversity – Gerhild Turner:

Nothing to report

9.  Old Business

Nelson mentioned that only one day is available for a Chapter dinner in Orlando.
