Current set up in Core Simplicity:

·  I enter the fair price for each model manually

·  I’ve been getting this price from Mac2Sell.com

o  I select the model and detailed information related to pricing the model (please go through a couple products on this site to get a good feeling for the process)

·  This fair market value is displayed when a user lists their product in the marketplace

·  This offer is modified by answers to questions about the item’s condition.

·  This value is also used, as a percentage, to determine the amount that I will pay for an item in “Sell Instantly.”

Problems with current system:

·  Manual system of entry is impractical, needs to be automated

·  Mac2sell.com prices are sometimes unreliable

o  Some models are missing (new models)

o  Formula is great for some products, but very far off with others

o  Criteria may be too broad in some cases

Requirements for new Fair Market Value Tool

·  New tool needs to accurately, and automatically update the fair market value for all Apple Products

·  Should update weekly or bi-weekly (whichever works best for the result)

·  Needs to use unique information from model information (will be different for different products; iphone, macbook, mac pro, etc)

o  Processor, Hard Drive (SSD), RAM, etc

·  Should be based on a combination of list prices and completed listings on various market websites (including my own)(ex. eBay, Amazon, etc.)

o  Can not fish websites illegally

·  Age, model and hardware should be considered in the formula

·  When it’s all said and done, the means matter little if the product arrives at an accurate result, you have plenty of liberty on this project

·  I’d also like this product to work on a few parts in the market to automate some repair costs like hard drive costs, RAM costs, etc.
