Tournament Rules

·  Tournament Date: The tournament begins and ends on May 21, 2017.

·  Entry/Registration Fee: There is a $70.00 entry fee per boat (2 person team)

o  The Tournament prizes are as follows:

§  1st Place - $800.00 2nd Place - $400.00

§  3rd Place - $200.00 4th Place - $100.00

o  Placement will be determined by total catch weight per team; only crappie are eligible for scoring.

o  7 crappie per team will be eligible for weigh in.

o  Any crappie brought in dead, dying or injured will be penalized by half the weight of that fish.

o  In the event of a tie, the earlier weigh-in shall win the tie.

·  Registration: Early registration is highly encouraged.

o  Tournament is open to the public. This is an amateur tournament so no guides allowed.

o  One team member must register and pay entry fee in person or by mail.

§  Mailed entry fees and forms must be received no later than May 12th.

o  Team Captain is required to sign the registration form before the tournament begins.

o  Team launch order will be determined by the order registration forms are received.

·  The tournament reserves the right to refuse participation to any entry or team.

·  Fishing Hours: Boat launch opens 6:00 am. Tournament fishing from 7:00 am – 2:00 pm. Awards ceremony to follow weigh-in.

o  Must be in line to weigh-in by 2:00 pm to be eligible to weigh.

o  There will be no pooling of fish between teams.

·  Equipment:

o  2 Pole and line only per angler (per site regulations).

o  All boats must have live well (18” long, 12” deep & 12” wide) and be equipped with functioning aerator and water pump.

o  Live wells must be checked by a tournament official before entering or exiting the lake.

o  Ribbon (supplied at check-in) must be displayed on trolling motor or bow.

·  No hole sitting by a competitor or non-competitor boat during the tournament will be allowed.

·  Fishing within 50 feet of a competitor’s boat, which is first anchored is prohibited.

·  Anglers under 16 years old must be accompanied by parent or guardian.

·  Tournament will only be cancelled in the event of severe weather/high wind. The Tournament Committee/IDNR reserves the right to cancel the tournament in the event of a dangerous weather condition.

·  By signing registration form participants agree that the tournament may use without payment, royalty, or restrictions any photos, video, audio, or other media in which they may appear.

·  Tournament participants may not at any time be under the influence of any alcohol or illegal drugs.

·  Unsportsmen-like conduct, i.e. threats, swearing, inappropriate gestures, rudeness, etc., by any team members to other team members or tournament officials will result in immediate disqualification!

·  Each contestant, evidenced by his/her entry in the tournament, does hereby release and agree to protect, indemnify and hold harmless the Knights of Columbus and tournament committee from and against any and all claims, demands, causes of action of any sort and damages resulting from an accident, incident or occurrence arising from, incidental to, or in any way resulting from his/her participation in this tournament. Each contestant hereby further covenants and agrees for him/herself, his/her heirs, successors and assigners, that they will not make and claim or institute a suit or action at law or equity the committee, it’s agents, representatives, successors or assigns, arising out of injury or damage a contestant may suffer while participating in this tournament.

·  Disqualification: Violation of any Federal or State Laws or Heidecke Lake site rules or tournament rules will result

in disqualification and forfeiture of entry fee. Heidecke Lake site specific rules may be viewed at:
