Select your location and the collection that you are scanning. Scan the ISBN number from the back of the book. It will look in your local database first. If it does not find it there, it will search the Z39.50 databases for the item. Once the item is found, it will be displayed. Your classification number will be displayed based on your configurations. The cutter should autofill from the MARC record. If it doesn’t, you will need to enter that information, along with scanning the barcode into the system before the record will save. If the pre-populated classification and cutter information does not match your spine label, change the information to reflect what is on your spine label. By clicking on the right arrow, you also have the option of entering the LCCN number instead of the ISBN number. If you want to print a spine label for this book check the ‘Print Spine Label’ box. Click ‘Save’ to enter the item into the database.
To print a spine label for an item, check the “Print Spine Label” box prior to saving.
