Directions to Dry Creek Trailhead

For drivers coming from southern areas, it is usually better to exit I-75 at GA-140 (Exit 306), take GA-140 west to US-27, and US-27 northwest to the crossroad village of Gore, then follow the directions below.

Driving from Villanow, travel south on East Armuchee Road for about 10 minutes to arrive at the area. Continue past Manning Mill Rd on your right, and about ¼ mile further turn left onto FS 226. Drive 0.7 miles to a Y intersection. Turn right onto FS 226B and go 0.6 miles, where you will reach another intersection. Turn left here (this is FS 226A) and go 0.4 miles until you intersect the main 226 road. Turn right on 226 and stay on it for 0.2 miles until you reach the parking lot at the top of a small hill.There are multiple primitive camping areas located across the creek and at other locations that are used by equestrians and others. Camping is not permitted in the new parking lot.

From US-27 at Gore, travel north on the Gore-Subligna highway for 8.1 miles to the village of Subligna. Turn right on the East Armuchee Road (this is also the Subligna-Villanow Highway/ Route 705) and drive about 3.2 miles to the Dry Creek area. Turn right onto FS 226 and drive 0.7 miles to a Y intersection. Turn right onto FS 226B and go 0.6 miles, where you will reach another intersection. Turn left here (this is FS 226A) and go 0.4 miles until you intersect the main 226 road. Turn right on 226 and stay on it for 0.2 miles until you reach the parking lot at the top of a small hill.

From Tennessee and north of Dalton, using I-75:

·  Exit I-75 at north business loop, onto US 41.

·  Go north on US 41 a couple of miles to Hwy 201

· Take Hwy 201 southwest about 17 miles to Villanow.
· Go straight across GA 136 in Villanow and follow directions above.
