Dear St. George Community,

Lunch is from noon-2 p.m. and dinner is from 5-7 p.m. Our doors are open to all! Please try and spread the word to those who still do not have power and heat. Spend the day with us...eat...charge your phones...recharge your spirit!

We will also be accepting donations again tomorrow from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. in the AthleticCenter. Items of importance are socks, underwear, blankets, formula, diapers, supermarket gift cards, water, toiletries...
Also, if you know of any families that can use clothing, strollers, water, toiletries, blankets, sheets, towels, or any other item, please stop by and pick up what you need!

Thank you all for your amazing support! That's what its all about...neighbors helping neighbors!
Please repost for others to pass along! STAY STRONG AND KEEP THE FAITH!

I received the above email as I am sure most of you have and I want to update the list of items that are needed for the people in the area. I was informed that one of the most important and scarce items that we can get families that have already begun to gut the first floors of their homes are very large "plastic container/bins" in which they can store their dearest items that aresalvageable while their homes are being rebuilt. These container/bins can be brought to our Church and we will make sure we distribute them to the people in our area.

Non-perishable food items (peanut butter, cereal, soups, etc)

Feminine Hygiene Products,

Diapers-(large size)

Paper products-(paper towels, toilet paper)

Paper plates, plastic forks, knives, spoons

Blankets (new)

Towels (new)

Sheets(new)

Batteries

Lastly, if anyone would like to make a monetary donation for the Philoptochos to buy and distribute food cards, please make your check payable to St. George Philoptochos Society, write "Sandy Relief " in the memo and leave your check in the church office. We will purchase food cards and distribute them.

We have and will continue to distribute these needed items to our local shelters and distribution locations in the immediate area.

Thank you to all who have already donated so much including their time as volunteers.
