Kindergarten Registration

Perry Hall Elementary will hold Kindergarten Registration for the 2017-2018 school year on Thursday, April 20, 2017. Contact Mrs. Bragg at 410-887-5105 for more information. We will send out registration materials later this month. Please pass this information on to any neighbors who will have children in Kindergarten next school year. It is important to have as many of our new Kindergarten students register as early as possible. This allows our school to plan and prepare for the next school year in a more efficient manner. It also provides families with the assurance that their students are registered to begin school on time.

Spanish Notes

¡Hola! ¡Saludos de la clase de español! Time has flown by this year – only one quarter left! Students have improved tremendously and are able to have conversations all in Spanish! In fourth grade, students learned the Spanish alphabet with a fun song called “Canta Con Cosmo”. Ask them to show it to you on YouTube – just search for Canta con Cosmo and it’s the first result that comes up. It’s catchy and will have you singing along in no time!

In fifth grade, students are finishing up mission 3 by continuing to design their dream schools. First, they used everything they learned this unit to describe what Perry Hall is actually like, and then they used their imaginations to design the school of their dreams. In the last quarter, students will create a breakfast and lunch menu for their dream school and decide how to spend a $1,000,000 budget to open their schools.

Are you looking to practice some Spanish at home? Ask your child to teach you what they learned in Spanish class each week! Also, here are some Spanish phrases you can practice at home during April.

La frase en español / English sentence
¿Qué tiempo hace hoy? / What’s the weather today?
Hace sol. / It’s sunny.
Está nublado. / It’s cloudy.
Llueve. / It’s raining.
¡Me gusta la escuela Perry Hall! / I like Perry Hall!

¡Hasta luego!

Attention PHES Students and Families!

The PHES PTA is busy organizing goodies and treats for the wonderful staff at PHES for staff appreciation week (May 1, 2017 through May 5, 2017). This year, one special goodie we’d like to give to the staff is the gift of hot beverages! A happy staff is a caffeinated staff! 

The staff lounge is equipped with a Keurig beverage machine; however, we’ve been told that the staff provide their own drinks and supplies. Wouldn’t it be nice if the PHES families could contribute to the staff’s beverage needs??

The PTA has set up a collection bin in the lobby for the staff’s beverage needs. So please consider picking up a box of K-cups (coffee, tea, hot cocoa) during your next shopping trip to show the staff how much you appreciate them! Please send in your donations with your child for placement in our bin. We will present the staff with the collected goodies on May 1, 2017. Donations will be accepted between now and April 28, 2017. The following items are encouraged for donation:

  • K cups (coffee, tea, hot cocoa)
  • Non-perishable creamer (e.g. mini moos)
  • Disposable hot beverage cups and lids
  • Sugar packets
