CWCCA Junior Assistance Grant

This is not a competitive award and ALL CWCCA Junior members (Juniors) are eligible for a Junior Assistance Grant (JAG).

Who may qualify: Any Junior (under 18 years of age) who meets the qualifications for that specific event. A Junior must be a CWCCA member (either through a Junior membership or as part of a Household membership) for the entire qualification period, and must qualify with a Cardigan Welsh Corgi. A Junior must enter the event with a Cardigan Welsh Corgi. Juniors must have been under 18 years of age at the time of the qualifying wins. (note: if the Junior turns 18 after qualifying, he or she may still receive the grant).

Events that JAG will support:

  1. Eukanuba Junior Showmanship
  2. Westminster Junior Showmanship
  3. AKC Agility Invitational, in conjunction with Eukanuba
  4. AKC Obedience Classic, in conjunction with Eukanuba

There will be ONE grant per junior per year. A Junior may participate in more than one of the above events, but only one grant will be issued.

Juniors may receive a grant in successive years, as long as qualifications are met each year.

Juniors must submit a grant form (available on website) as soon as they know they have met qualifications.

Juniors must write up an article for the Bulletin after their event, describing their experiences and how the grant has helped them. Juniors are also asked to submit a list of expenses they have incurred for their event (receipts are not required). This will help the JAG committee plan for future grants.

After the Junior has participated and submitted their article, a check will be issued from the CWCCA to the Junior.

Grant amounts available will be announced by October 1st of each year. This gives each Junior enough time to decide to submit an entry for the show.

Grant amounts are dependent on donations and number of Juniors, and as a result may change year to year. The minimum grant will be $200 provided funds are available.

Grant amounts are dependent on donations and number of Juniors, and as a result may change year to year. The minimum grant will be $300.

The Board JAG Committee may add approve additional AKC events in future years at the recommendation of the JAG committee their discretion. This will be posted on the CWCCA website.

The CWCCA will add a donation line to the annual membership renewal form for donations to JAG.
