Dear Colleague,

Thank you for the interest you have shown in the position of Headteacher at our school. I hope that you find the following details informative and that they help you to decide that St Mary’s Catholic Primary School is the school in which you would be happy and able to make a positive contribution. We also recommend you visit in person; you will be warmly welcomed and have the opportunity to discover for yourself, our wonderful children, staff, and facilities.

St Mary’s Catholic Primary school is based in South Kilburn, we are a Voluntary Aided School. Our pupils range is from 3 years to 11 years old and we currently have 285 pupils on Roll.

At its last Ofsted inspection, just over a year ago, our school was rated Good with numerous positive features, particularly with regard to the behaviour and attitude of our children. The Catholic life of the school was rated as outstanding by the Diocesan inspection team in May 2016. We are very proud of our achievements in recent years but believe that, with the right leadership, we must continue to move the school onwards to providing an outstanding learning experience for every child as well as being a living Christian Community.

There is an experienced and committed Governing Body with an impressive range of skills and a deep knowledge of the school. Financially, the school is in good shape, with a healthy surplus despite the challenging economic climate. The Governors are well aware of the challenges facing the education system in the future and will provide the Headteacher with strong support.

The school is an important part of the local Catholic community and is linked with Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, located nearby. The school has excellent relationships with parents, who are very supportive and appreciative of developments made in our journey of improvement.

We are seeking a Headteacher who will inspire staff to achieve the highest quality of teaching and develop creativity and excitement in learning for each and every child. If you are a strong and professional leader with a clear sense of our purpose we would like you to lead this school.

For more information about the school, please view our website at As mentioned we warmly welcome and recommend a visit to our school. To arrange a visit or a telephone conversation with myself please contact the school office and ask to speak to Mr Peter Keane or email .

On behalf of the Governing Body of St Mary’s Catholic Primary School, we thank you for your interest in our school, and we very much look forward to receiving your application.

Yours faithfully,

A. Frederick
