Job Title: Management Information Analyst

Purpose of the Role:
· To administer the Management Information request process for the Government Administrations team
· Facilitate the responses to Parliamentary Questions
· Delivery of Management Information reports to customers
· Support communication of data warehouse and Microstrategy updates to users
· Engage with service review and keep in touch meetings with key customers
Key Accountabilities & Objectives:
Administration of MI request process· Ensure that all MI requests under the remit of the Service to Government Administrations Team coming into the Information Office mailbox are efficiently moved into the appropriate work queue
· Create entries in the MI Request database and the team shared drive as soon as practicable
· Acknowledge receipt of requests and advise the request number
· Ensure the team or person responsible is aware of the request (either via a system or direct communication)
· Identify requests that should be alerted to other parties (e.g. to the Government Administrations or SLC Media) such as FOI requests
Facilitate responses to Parliamentary Questions
· Ensure that all requests for input to PQs coming into the Parliamentary Questions mailbox are efficiently passed on to the relevant SLC department
· Progress PQ through to delivery by deadline
· Renegotiate with customers where deadlines are not achievable
· Engage with SLC departments to ensure final response is approved by directors/heads of service and in a format which is fit for purpose
Delivery of Management Information reports to customers
· Production and delivery of standard MI reports and ad hoc MI reports to customers
· Ensure that customer requirements are met, that all workings are visible in request folder,
report is presented correctly and that appropriate confidentially rating is applied
· Assist other members of the MI department in the delivery of their requests
· Quality assurance of peers’ reports and documented in the request folder
· Share with the department any relevant knowledge gained from monitoring the Information Office mailbox and working with the ICT Data Warehouse team
Support communication of data warehouse and Microstrategy updates to users
· Ensure that user questions and queries relating to the use of the Microstrategy application and data warehouse are efficiently dealt with· Maintain awareness of current status of the Microstrategy application
· Attend weekly data warehouse meeting to keep up to date on latest issues and developments
· Communication of issues/developments to both DS&A team and customers alike
· Work with the ICT Data Warehouse team to understand and answer Microstrategy user questions and queries
Engage with service review, and keep in touch meetings with key customers
· Prepare MI Request Status reports and Service Performance reports to customers in the Government Administrations
· Report weekly on the status of MI requests to BIS and devolved authorities including ensuring that the report is up to date, accurate and meaningful
· Participate in and arrange regular keep in touch meetings with key customers
· Upon request, provide updates to customers on status of MI requests
