Partnering to Honor
Instructions and Guidelines
INTRODUCTION AND GUIDELINES
The Partnering to Honor (PTH) program is a matching funds program supported by the Masonic Home of Missouri. MHM provides Matching Funds not to exceed $10,000.00 per Lodge/Chapter within a fiscal year of July 1-June 30.
Geographical Coverage
Matching funds must be used for Missouri Veterans and active duty personnel only.
Utilization of Matching Funds
- Care Package
Lodges and Chapters can work within their Lodge or Chapter to make and send care packages to active duty service members. They can be serving overseas or in the United States.
Flat rate boxes are available at the post office free of charge. Boxes shipped internationally may have a higher shipping rate. Please check with the post office before sending in your request for matching funds. The following is an outline of flat rate boxes, up to 70 lbs., and their cost for delivery within the United States:
Small (5-3/8” X 8-5/8” X 1-5/8”) flat rate box ships for $4.95
Medium (FRB1: 11” X 8.5” X 5.5”) flat rate box ships for $10.70
Medium (FRB2: 11-7/8” X 3-3/8” X 13-5/8”) flat rate box ships for $10.70
Large (12” X 12” X 5 ½”) flat rate box ships for $14.50.
Large flat rate boxes sent to APO/FPO military addresses are only $12.50 to ship.
Some ideas for care package contents are: decks of cards, books, socks, hand/foot warmers, foot powder, body wash, Q-tips, lip balm, lens cleaning cloths, small bottles of glass cleaner, baby wipes, sun screen, hot sauce (fast food condiment packets), water flavoring, beef jerky, ramen noodles, peanut butter, cereal, protein bars, sunflower seeds, BBQ sauce, coffee, pillow, hand written letter, etc…
There are some organizations that put together care packages and accept monetary donations. Such as church, VFW or American Legions. If your Lodge or Chapter would like to donate towards a care package that will be made by another entity, Lodge/Chapter funds may be matched.
- Honor Flight
Honor Flight ( started in 2005. This program honors veterans by helping them visit Washington D.C. to visit their memorial. The Masonic Home wants to partner with Lodges and Chapters throughout Missouri to help fund some of these Honor Flights for our well-deserved veterans. Some Honor Flight hubs only accept applications for WWII veterans. Please contact the Honor Flight hub closest to you for more information and applications.

Section 1: Masonic Organization Information
The Lodge/Chapter contact should be an officer of the organization and include an address, phone number and email address where the contact can be reached by MHM staff.
Section 2: Care Package
- How many service men/women will be receiving care packages with this request?
- How many boxes will be sent with this request?
- What can the Lodge/Chapter contribute for this request? This should include shipping costs.
- Please estimate anticipated total of volunteer hours to be completed by the Lodge/Chapter members for this request.
Section 3: Outside Organization Information
If you are using an outside organization to send care packages, please complete requested information in this section. Make sure to list to whom the check should be payable.
Section 4: Honor Flight
Fill out information for this section. The Honor Flight chapters are listed under
Instruction and Guidelines.
Section 5: Declaration
This is to be complete and signed by the organization officer submitting the application.

When to File Your Request
Matching Funds may be submitted year-round. Multiple submissions are permissible until the Lodge/Chapter $10,000 per fiscal year maximum has been met.
Who Will Receive the Grant Funds:
Funds will be sent to the Lodge/Chapter payable to the designed store or 501 c (3) organization. The Masonic Home will not reimburse Masonic Lodges, Chapters or individual members of a Lodge or Chapter.
MHM Matching Funds are NOT available to:
- Affiliates and projects outside the State of Missouri
- Medical, utility, mortgage bills, etc…
- Organizations NOT recognized as 501 c (3) public charities as defined under the Internal Revenue Code and applicable regulations
- Pay for or support debt
- Animal Welfare
- The Environment
- Medical Research
- Organizations with a political agenda or motivation
- Charities deemed to hold funds in excess of their needs
- Operational cost of organizations
- Christmas or Holiday giving programs
Receipts
Receipts must be sent to the Masonic Home within 10 days of receiving the check and are mandatory for audit purposes. Future requests will not be processed until previous request receipts are received.
