INSTRUCTIONS TO PARTICIPANTS for AZO Dyes in Textile iis15A02T

  • Please confirm sample receipt as soon as you have received and checked the contents of this package, preferably using the fax form that you receive together with this package. Please complete the form and send it to iis by email () or(faxno. +31 181 69 4543).
  • Record the date that the samples were received also on the report forms (A and B).
  • This interlaboratory study concerns 2 different samples #15020 and #15021 for determination of AZO dyes in textile. Sample #15020 is a textile based on polyester and sample #15021 is a cotton based sample. You receive for both samples approx. 3 grams. Please note that the samples have been selected to be positive, so determination should be possible, even when a smaller amount of sample is used.
  • Please treat the samples as if they were routine samples. Do not analyze separate colours per sample! This may be different from what your laboratory is used to, but for good comparison we ask you to treat each sample as if it is a single coloured material.
  • When a reference method is indicated on the form, the Institute for Interlaboratory Studies will use this method for calculating the z-scores. It is of utmost importance to know that the method, which is mentioned, is NOT mandatory. So when you normally use in day-to-day circumstances another method than the method prescribed in the ”reference method” column, please use your method and note the actual used method on the report form under “analysis method followed”.
  • Report the analytical results using the indicated units on the report form. Do not round the results, but report as much significant figures as possible, at least one figure more than you normally report. Also do not report ‘less than’ results which are above your detection limit. Results reported as ‘less than’ cannot be used for meaningful statistical calculations.
  • Please complete the report forms A & B with the requested details of the analysis performed.
  • In order to avoid mix-up of test results we have added a box to this form for your laboratory code. Please understand that it is not mandatory to use, but it will facilitate identification of your test results.
  • Return the completed report form to the Institute for Interlaboratory Studies at Spijkenisse, The Netherlands, preferably one week after sample receipt, but in any case before the indicated closing date: APRIL 03, 2015 preferably by email, see to download a report form (Worddocument) from the section “news&reports”.
