Purpose

This request is to attend the Business Forms Management Association, Annual Conference to be held in May 201? in NameOfCity.

Background

BFMA was formed more than 60 years ago to address the unique educational and networking needs of forms professionals: managers, analysts, designers and developers. With today’s technology, the forms function has broadened in scope to include everything from traditional paper forms to electronic data capture and the databases and applications that support it.

Cirriculum

Running a Forms Management Program: The Proposed Canadian Standards (RCMP)

The first standards for Forms Management Programs ever proposed. Led by Canadian General Standards Board. I have been asked to sit on the panel as a representative of the proposed standard.

2D and RFID Barcode Technology for the Forms Professional

I continue to get regular queries from the Director of Health Information Management related to making the leap to barcoded forms, however our team currently lacks any expertise in bar coding. This will give an introduction into barcoding technology and related design software available.

Boeing has historically led the way with forms initiatives, especially around standardization. They have a very robust online archive that I would like to learn more about. They have moved completely away from paper history folders (I have 9, 4-drawer filing cabinets of history files) and implemented countless IEforms.

The have 14,000 active forms and publications (electronic records mgmt) and a very robust database to manage them.

A Single Business Process for Paper and Electronic Forms

Attendees will learn how to develop business rules and verify logic of both electronic and paper forms with one setup so both can be processed concurrently within a single system and at the same speed. Tips and tricks will be offered for making the entire process flow to one repository.

Developing an Enterprise Forms Repository

Covers the steps necessary to create a forms repository from the ground up, using only in-house resources. This repository allows users from across the organization access and use over 15,000 forms.

Covers managing and operating continuous process improvement. How to build and maintain a list of processes for study, how to organize process studies and maintain records of benefits generated. Operations portion focuses on workflow, build process charts, organizing those charts in a process library. Will outline specific records, reports and management interventions that give structure and permanence to a continuous process improvement program. This is conducted by Graham Corp and a very similar 2-day workshop is being held in Calgary early May for $995.

We have just purchased from Amgraf Inc, OneForm Designer Plus, a software to develop intelligent electronic forms. Amgraf will be well represented at Symposium and in addition to the Vendor Luncheon, Vendor Suite Showcase and the Vendor Session, I will be able to book time for a One-on-One session with Amgraf.
