4. Reports
Principal /
  • See separate report attached
  • Our students will attend Dungog High orientation on 3 December.
  • Students being reminded about wearing the proper school uniform.
  • Merit system reward day will be Tuesday, 15 December. K-2 going to Ten Pin Bowling and 3-6 going to FlipOut.

Treasurer /
  • Still owe $5,100 for court, $250 to school for other bills and $1350 for awards. K McCaw proposing that we pay all of our bills. We would still have approximately $19,000 in the bank which has not been allocated. Committee agreed this was a good idea.
  • K McCaw proposed to change our bank account from Holiday Coast Credit Union as it is inconvenient for her to get to a branch. Have also had no luck transferring to an online banking system with Holiday Coast. Majority of schools and P&Cs bank with Westpac. They have a community account with no fees, can do business banking onine.
  • Move to approve we open a community account at Westpac. Moved by T McNaughton. Unanimous vote and motion passed. Signaturies will be K McCaw, T McNaughton, M Lilley, C Woodbine.
  • See separate report attached

Canteen Committee / M Collins advised:
  • Thank you to everyone for their help at the fete running food stalls. Everything ran smoothly. A special thank you to Mrs Stewart (Rebecca and Alex Drew’s grandmother) for her help at the outdoor café as well as other relatives who assisted on the day.
  • Thank you to the P&C for letting the canteen utilise excess stock from the fete for the benefit of a canteen Red Day that shall probably be held later this month.

Uniforms /
  • Decision required regarding the supplier of slim fit pants and shorts. Preference would be to stick with main supplier for all items, as the supplier of the slim fit pants is expensive and require a bulk order to purchase. Propose to cease ordering through this supplier and parents can purchase slim fit pants / shorts elsewhere. It is too expensive for the P&C to place bulk order when minimal purchases are made. P&C agreed to cease ordering with this supplier.

Correspondence /
  • Letter received from Kate Washington proposing that she come and talk to P&C about P&C networking. Yes we will see if she can come to a meeting early next year.

5. General Business and Other Business Arising
Fete /
  • Profit from fete was $14,800
  • Cassie has some left over prizes from the fete – possible suggestion of a raffle for Mother’s Day or Easter.
  • West Tigers Jersey not sold in Silent Auction. Cassie suggests selling on eBay or Gumtree. Will try Gumtree first.
  • Thank you from Cassie for everyone’s help at the fete.

PBL /
  • T Dybell presented school’s approach to PBL (Positive Behaviour for Learning). PBL becomes consistent throughout school and community so language being used at school is the same as the language being used at home.
  • Students and teachers have been asked what they would like the school to look like, feel like, sound like, how are we going to act? School needs to develop their “universals” – outlining what they would like the school to achieve.
  • School would like feedback from parents about what they would like the school to feel like / sounds like / looks like / how are we all going to act? This feedback was given.
  • Students then have specific lessons explicitly teaching PBL expectations. This will start in 2016.
  • Program includes reward systems and parent feedback will be required throughout the entire process.

Fundraising /
  • Mango Fundraising – orders have been received for 94 trays.

Other business /
