Matters Arising.

J.Q Said that an electronic prescription ordered the previous day was successfully processed and was awaiting collection.

Dr S.K.M said that there had been a power cut which had affected the computer system for 48 hours but it is up and running and appears to be working well.

K.H said the new system allows her to pick her prescription up in Upton.

Organ Donation.

Dr S.K.M will be supporting the idea in principle of making the need known by having the message shown on the screens in the surgery. Joyce Roberts offered thanks to Jayne for bringing organ donation to the attention of the group. Jayne will enquire what the cut off age for donation is and inform the group at the next meeting.

JQ enquired as to how having MS would affect organ donation.

Raza said he had information on NAPPS and will present his findings to the group at a later date.

Flu injections will be available till the end of March and there was a great success in the Saturday morning clinics for flu injections.

Patient Survey.

Dr S.K.M said there was a need for a basic patient survey to find out what is good, bad about the recent changes and suggested that one could be done in March 2014.

Copies of the old Mill Lane survey forms were handed around for examination and comments, it was also suggested that information on inoculations etc could be put in a news letter.

Also information for carers and any support available should be included as should be awareness of NHS clinics locally.

Dr S.K.M said that from next year patients will have a nominated GP.

NM. Told the group about Eldercare who can supply monitors for elderly people who may need help quickly. D.K said he had an Eldercare tele monitor which passes information to St Caths Cardiac unit twice a week and if there are any changes then the cardiac unit specialist nurses are on the phone within the hour.

There will be no PPG meeting in December, However DR S.K.M invited anyone who is free to come to the surgery on 23rd December for a mince pie and drink at about 1300hrs.

Next Meeting

28th January 2014 at 1300hrs. Wishing everyone a very Happy Christmas and a Prosperous New Year.
