Position: Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner

Salary range: $5,002 - $6,703

Location: Department of Human Services

Employment Type: 40 hours per week, FLSA exempt

Job Summary: Serve as a member of the agency mental health clinical unit, working both independently and within a team environment. Responsible for providing direct patient care including diagnostic, preventive, medication management, educational and therapeutic mental health services to children, adolescents and adults. This professional must demonstrate a deep concern for the mental health and well being of others and is responsible for monitoring patient services; ensuring services meet patient’s needs and are provided in accordance with best practice, industry standards, organization guidelines, legal requirements, state and federal law. Train, assign and supervise work of nursing staff, technicians, clinicians and others as directed by Medical / Psychiatric Director.

Equipment/Working Environment: The working environment, physical and mental abilities required for this position are ones typically related to office operations and must include ability to efficiently perform the essential functions of the position without hazard to themselves or others. Occasional standing, walking, lifting up to twenty five pounds, reaching, kneeling, bending, stooping; requires eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity sufficient to operate a computer, telephone and other office equipment; requires normal range of hearing and vision to record, prepare and communicate appropriately in person and by phone.

Minimum requirements: Washington State license as a Registered Nurse (in good standing) and a bachelor’s degree in nursing science (or Masters in Nursing) from a School of Nursing accredited by the Nation League of Nursing or the equivalent. Washington State license as an Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner (in good standing) with prescriptive authority. Completion of advanced practitioner training and certification as a nurse practitioner with a specialty – Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner. Experience in mental health is preferred but will consider an individual who is actively seeking training specific to mental health Maintain a current driver’s license and vehicle insurance, access to a dependable vehicle during work hours. Must have prescriptive authority in the state of Washington, possess and maintain current First Aid/CPR (basic life support) certification, and submit to and clear a criminal records background check
