Note* The proper COM port and baud rate will automatically be chosen.

6.  If the software says “please reset device and invoke bootloader and or operation failed no response from device” then the computer has failed to connect to device.

Trouble shooting for failed connection

a.  Is the DC power supply connected to the device and turned on?

b.  Is the driver for the USB adapter installed and current on the computer being used?

c.  Ensure the software chose the proper COM port.

7.  Click the Load Hex file button in the bootload software. At this time the standard windows file search appears and you will have to find the hex file that is required. Placing the Hex file on your desktop may make this easier to find.

8.  Choose the NVM hex file (NewMG3KTach NVM Erase.hex)

9.  After you choose the hex file the software will say “hex file loaded successfully”

10.  Click the “Erase – program – verify” button.

11.  The software is now being updated or loaded. Please wait until the bootloader says “verification successful”

12.  Click the disconnect button.

13.  The bootloader will say, “device disconnected.

14.  Now repower instrument (turn off, turn back on again)

15.  Run instrument for 10 seconds

16.  Plug bootloader cable back in

17.  Repeat steps 4 through 6, this time choosing the new PGF hex file to be loaded.

18.  At this point the bootloading is complete. If you are loading a tach a master reset per the applicable instruction manual is recommended.
