Feb 1: Opening Night Party with Special Guest, Barbara Angell, writer of The Coral Browne Story

AN ENGLISHMAN ABROAD (Dir: John Schlesinger GB 1983 64 min colour)

Dramatisation of an actual meeting in Moscow in 1958 between actress Coral Browne and former British spy, Guy Burgess. Browne plays herself in this recreation of an encounter both touching and humorous. Barbara Angell, who has written a biography of Coral Browne, will be our special guest for the evening.

Judy Garland plays a cash-strapped New Englander whose farm is besieged by a troupe of New York actors (led by Gene Kelly) after her stage-struck sister invites them to use their barn as a summer theatre.
