Irish Schools Regatta 2015

Dear Captain/Secretary,

Many thanks for your entry for the Schools Regatta. We look forward to providing you with some excellent racing on the day.

I would like to draw your attention to the following:

•Declarations for all races must be made through Tracker before 18:00 on Friday24th.Failure to do so will result in the removal of the crew/sculler from the starting list.

•For those with smartphones, the draw & results will be available @ DrawLinkthroughout the day.

•In the interest of identification we would ask that all schools wear their distinctive school colours

•Bow numbers will be in use and a €10 deposit will be required.

•Due to the large entry we have had to make some changes to the race formats:

  • J14 events will have multiple finals. The winners of each final will receive prizes
  • Other events with more than 16 entries will have a time trial to determine which crews qualify for the final
  • J15 events with more than 16 entries declared will qualify for 2 finals. The winner of each final will receive prizes. (Timing will determine which crews go to each final with odd numbers going to final A and even numbers going to Final B)

•Junior 14 events will be flying starts finishing at the normal finish. The crews should proceed beyond the normal start to wait for their race. When called they should move onto the course in their lane but should not attach to the stakeboats. They will then paddle to the 1000m mark for a flying start.

•The regatta field will be open from early on Friday morning and security will be in place on Friday and Saturday nights.

•We have the use of the St Michael's field adjacent to the regatta field so will have additional trailer parking.

•Parking Restrictions will apply in the regatta field and the approach road. Wesuggest parking before the village (far side of the bridge) and to walk the pathway along the riverbank to the regatta enclosure. Distance 400m.

•Catering will be provided throughout the day
