The Student Government Association of Mt. San Jacinto College met via video conferencing, commencing at 12:30 p.m. on August 16, 2011 in Room 1016-B-MVC and Room 200-SJC.

1. Approval of minutes from 10/25/11 Motion Katherine Second Hung Approved
2. Vice president Stacy swore in Rachael Callaghan and Yuna Dillard was not present
III. Board Reports and Information Items
A. President Tripp announced plans for a Fun day to be held on Monday January 2nd. This will be open to anyone 18 or older and we will attend the game show The Price is Right pending the RSVP of 20 or more people. This is NOT an MSJC College event.
B. President Tripp also brought the possible date and times for the planning retreat. The officers voted for January 4th from 10am-3-pm potluck in the board room.
C. Kenneth Prado suggested we bring our schedules for the next meeting to discuss a possible change in meeting times brought up by President Tripp.
D. Sandi asked the officers too email President Tripp if they are interested in change in meeting times.
E. President Tripp announced that SJC Starbucks has approved the sponsoring of free coffee for college students during college hour. Rachael Callaghan volunteered to contact Starbucks MVC.
F. Vice President Stacy announcements from ICC meeting,
Multicultural festival will be held in April 21 Sat on MVC.
Masqueraders will be holding auditions on December 6th
“a 2nd Chance” will be having a fundraiser Candy boxes and Chocolate Roses.
Ceramic’s club will be holding a sale on the 29-30th of November
F.A.V.E is filming at bus stop December 17, 19, 21 and 23rd
December 5th is the last ICC meeting at 1:30pm
ICC meetings will remain the same next semester
G. Treasurer Moreno announced on December 3rd there will be the Hemet Parade
SGA officers will show up at 8am but the parade will start at 10am and end at 12pm
The theme for the holiday parade will be the 12 days of Christmas
Sandi opened her home to any officers interested in having a picnic or a potluck after parade
Moreno suggested we have a white elephant game after the parade in order to boost group morale
H. Senators report Siqueiros announced Spaghetti dinner was held as a fundraiser
Jessica and Gerardo were offered facilities if they decide to hold a fundraiser. Place this idea on the next agenda as an action item
U. Senator Callaghan suggested a chalk art event for the next Welcome Back BBQ on both campuses
V. Prado attended the fall general assemble through November 4th-6th and was informed that SGA may not make any name changes for an organization without the approval of the general student body.
W. Stacy asked Prado to bring any documentation to support his information.
X. Interim Advisor Uhrig reported on January 2nd SGA has been invited to attend a taping of The Price is Right in the Los Angeles area at 9am anyone attending must be 18years or older
Y. Advisor Uhrig suggested we host a possible Art themed BBQ for the Welcome Back BBQ’s. The Foundation Scholarship event will be held at Pechanga Casino on February 11th. If your art is chosen you may attend the event for free and receive a scholarship for your art.
Z. Advisor Uhrig attended Mt. Saint Mary’s College ASGA Conference and was informed about a few ways to promote SGA. One idea what was presented was distributing business cards, book exchanges, food pantry.
I. Public Comment
This time is reserved for members of the public to address the Student Government Association on issues not already appearing on the agenda. A limit of 5 minutes per speaker and 20 minutes per topic shall be enforced.
Public relations officer Nelson Rozo asked if anyone would be interested in participating in his workshop. All those interested in attending have been asked to contact Nelson.
Advisor Uhrig announced that those interested in taking Leadership 102 would qualify for a certificate in Leadership.

B. Spring Retreat- SJC Board room 200 Wed Jan 4, 2012-9:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m.
C. Coffee for Finals week-Daniel went to SJC Starbucks and got 2 events donated. Rachael Callaghan will go to MVC Starbucks to request set-up the date and times for the Free Coffee for Finals date. JoAnna ahd already set-up 2 Event Sponsorships with MV Starbucks Tuesday Dec 13th MVC and Thursday Dec 15th SJC. Sandi will pick up the coffee and return any containers back to Starbucks.
D. Multi Cultural Festival MVC & SJC?-SGA will help with this event.
