Job Opportunity –Re-Clean Holdings Ltd – an affiliate of the Macquarie Group Korea – Seoul

Re-Clean Holdings is a renewable energy and environmental services company that develops and operates waste-to-energy and waste treatment facilities, consistent with the government’s objective of achieving a “resource-circulating society”. Our current portfolio of facilities consists of Food Waste Recycling, Solid Refuse Fuel (SRF)/Bio-SRF production and Combined Heat & Power (CHP) which are managed by accomplished staff, many with over 20 years of experience. Re-Clean Holdings is a leader of Korea’s movement towards an innovative resource-circulating society by delivering clean and sustainable solutions for our communities, through our people.

We plan to continue our expansion of base assets and market consolidation to achieve critical mass, seek value chain integration and develop best-in-class technical and operational know-how. We are targeting >100MW power generation and >1 million ton pa waste treatment with market share of 10-20% in key regions.

We are looking for a high calibre Korean attorney who possess a strong interest in renewable energy and environmental services industry, deep knowledge of current market activity and the desire to work in our asset management team in Seoul.

The role will provide an excellent opportunity for you to get hands-on work experience in a dynamic, international environment. You will be supporting the team in asset and risk management by conducting extensive legal analysis and research. You will also have the opportunity to participate on challenging projects as part of a successful team.

Key responsibilities:

  • Work closely with the senior management team on strategy, how to best manage risk and operational issues, efficiently communicate with government and municipalities on regulatory/policy issues etc
  • Review, draft, and negotiate key commercial contracts relating to operation of waste treatment, waste-to-energy and renewables facilities
  • Analyse business and regulatory issues arising from operation of such facilities, provide legal support and advice to business units, and follow-up on latest policy issues and trends in waste treatment & renewable energy sector
  • Support Legal/Communication Officer on various legal, compliance, risk management and external communication tasks
  • Support Legal/Communication Officerand other senior management on various corporate secretarial matters

Key certification, skills and knowledge areas required:

  • Member of the Korean bar
  • Outstanding academic record in a relevant discipline
  • At least 2 years of post-qualification work experience in handling commercial contracts and advising in relevant industry at a law firm, investment bank, asset management firm or corporate
  • Some financial analysis skills
  • Strong reading and writing skills (English and Korean)
